..halloween houses for the upcoming atc guild meeting on
wednesday night at rock paper scissors
this is karyl's theme and i must admit it had me stymied,
but intrigued.the twelve artist trading cards will be 3.5x8"
in size and we will attach them to one another to create one
long howling house.i finally got my inspiration when i was
browsing for stamps to buy for stocking the shelves at rps
i found this one in the paperbag studios catalog and find the
possibilities to be limitless...leave it to roben-marie!

a side note:i am looking forward to welcoming nancy curry to
our already eclectic, creative, artsy, cuckoo group of atc sisters at
wednesdays meeting!

fifty fun

i spent the day yesterday with pat & corey,it just happened to be my birthday!
it was a perfectly gorgeous fall day...cool,a little breezy, sunny and fresh.
corey started my day off with a wonderful, warm corey hug and smile at the backdoor of the shop.
then she gifted me with theeeee most fabulous "scarflet" that she knit and crocheted {it will be the perfect companion for me all winter and look smashing with that new boiled wool wrap!}i love it!
hannah came by to deliver my mail from home...a 5 inch high stack o' birthday greetings and a honey of a hug from her! XO's 2u h!
dear pat made a grand entrance with the BIGGEST bunch of fun balloons i have seen...imagine small scale macy's day parade...and the cutest teeniest [thank-you for that!] chocolat' birthday cake, she presented me with this "toy" that i have been longing for and the most beautiful bracelet!
i enjoyed a lovely, relaxing dinner with corey & pat at the vine on main.
when i got home i opened the gift that carol sent me,a box filled with all things completely desirable! a felted polka dotted pouch with a juicy $50 borders gift card inside,a very fun charm bracelet that will go rather nicely with the one pat gave me and as is carol's "special touch",two quarters...you know..50? there was also a large moleskine watercolor pad in the box, how swwweet is that!
thanks, sweet friends...my most favorite gift though is you!

embracing 50....

.....almost as easy as embracing my new way cool
boiled wool coat {from: me to: me} and a deliciousenormous
honey crisp apple from tom! SWWEET!
it really is almost as big as my head!

stamps&words

a teeny taste of corey's featured stamps
i am very partial to the 5th stamp on the upper left side of the shelf. it stamps like a dream with acrylic paint and is a great journaling tool, words here and there. taking a cue from laurie doctor...whom i admire very much. the idea of journaling, placing my words...sometimes not such great feeling feelings, touching each other is a very effective way to exorcise those unwanted demons. i look forward to laurie's workshops in march, here in st. charles.

two stinkin cute

goblins from my past.
i wish my inner goblins were this cute.
i will imagine that they are!

do you know mac?

mac os x.
i made the decision to replace my old dell with this pretty, shiny new macintosh.
i have had it for a week now,and i DO love it.i do.i knew it would be different.it is.
i am slowly getting to know the new ways and having fun with the gadgets..like the
photobooth feature...having fun hamming for it..seeing the many faces i can make,
killing untold amounts of time...but getting to know someone/something takes time.
my cd's are all stacked up waiting their turns to be cataloged in iTunes.fun.

BUT
i miss my picasa.
i miss putting "hidden" links on my blog...i lost the capability i used to know.
i love to link...can you help me? do YOU know mac?
help a girl out!!!!!pretty please.

desirable object & more on the way

it started with my friend, pat,as is usually the case.
she is theee objects of desire aficionado.the seeker & finder of all things way wonderful. ; )

a few months ago pat taught her famous paste paper technique at rock paper scissors.
she had all of her marvelous tools for us to use, among them were these honkin' great
wooden textile blocks...i spent most of the class monopolizing them and wanting them
for my very own...sigh.
months had passed.

then the other day pat sent me this link
i am the proud owner of #22 {isn't it gorgeous?}
more are on the way!
visit rachel at her etsy shop for one {or more} of your very own....then bring it to one
of pat's paste paper workshops to share with me...it's nice to share...i'll share, too!

i couldn't help myself

eileen fisher boiled wool coat.

i just ordered this most fabulous piece of yummy warmth.
for myself.
as a 50th birthday present.yep.

i figure i only have a couple more weeks that i can "get by" with
this sort of impulsive purchase.
now if it were only cold enough to actually wear it,
it will be near 90 today....50 would be perfect!

happy birthday to rock paper scissors

it has already been two years since corey & rock paper scissors has come on the scene and taken all who enter under its spell.
it is such a calm and cool fellowship....sisterhood if you will,a real pleasure to walk through the door there just knowing that i will be genuinely happily greeted and dazzled by the shop, its contents and its owner...and the artists who gather there!

{many thanks} corey,my friend....happppyhappppy birthday...U are the ROCKinest!
