strange folk stock

i have that zero hour state of mind going for me,i am glad
it has come a callin' sooner than later!i have got quite an
inventory amassing for *the strange folk festival and that is
a good thing, because i have decided to apply for
the rock'n'roll craft show in december
hosted by the mad art gallery...i like their concept...you drop
off your gathered goods and they sell them for you for a small percentage
of your sales.

*and,oh,i am also working on a nifty "giveaway" for the first 25 folks
to purchase from my table at the festival!!!!

check in often for updates!

cuff,bangle or bracelet?

i just listed this needle felted wool & mohair wrist "bob"
in my etsy shop ,i really like the end product...it is a
comfortable size and can be tied on to fit (it will require a
friends assistance for the tying part)i am trying to decide
on a way that it can be done alone...maybe velcro or a
button for the next few waiting in the wings...i am open
to suggestions...just leave me a comment...oh and take a
peek here!

today's reminder
this day and every day,i will place my life and
the lives of those i love in the hands of God,secure
in the knowledge that He will not fail me,if i,too,
do my part. {talk to Him}

chain,chain,chain

here is corey modeling her most recent
"what's new" at rock paper scissors
acquisition! a PAPER CHAIN! i have never
stopped worshipping at the paper chain
altar, they are so relaxing to make and the
finished product is so satisfying!

remember those nifty gum wrapper chains?
my sweet colorado crony sarah sent me this
book(below),the one that was published in this book
and it is adorned with much delight, but mostly
i must say i am partial to the gum wrapper chain
embellishment! you can get a close up view of this
book while it is on display at rock paper scissors
for the next month!

a tender aged sarah, peeking out of the book!
thank-you sarah fishburn, you rock the most!

for your wrist

i have taken to a new design...something for your wrist
this fall! i enjoy the brooches i have been making but was
thinking i would like to expand.these are my first two
"prototypes"...the rest will be variations on this theme!
i would really be interested to know what you are thinking,
or maybe what you would like to see...input,ideas,inspiration?!
:) thanks~

strange folk machine

...i am on an arts & crafting roll, and enjoying
the productivity very much! i spent the day
yesterday at rock paper scissors finishing
up the second batch of paste paper to be used
as scrap samplers and atc & inchie blanks to
sell at the upcoming, much anticipated, highly fun
strange folk festival on sept.22 in o'fallon,il.
hannah came by and jumped in the fray effortlessly
creating some of the most gorgeous painted papers
{this from a girl much to busy with life on life's terms
to even think of being creative....it did her a world of good!
and made me very happy to see her having such joy!}
i am soooo grateful there is a place like rps and corey the
owner who is so gracious and giving with her wonderful
workshop area...it is so freeing to spread out to make such a
yummy mess, such a luxury to wrap up in! thanks, dear friend!
oxxoxoxoooxoxoxo 2U dd!

felty fun

shapes made from silk "hankies" & an old glass
button fashioned into a embellishment for your
lapel or hem of a skirt!

firstborn studio/strange folk...stuff for sale

some of the "fabric" i have been making for my brooches,
using silk hankies and the singer!
i will also have a variety of what i am calling POP9 pockets,
using images i have taken with my nifty cheap plastic camera!
these pockets are great for housing a credit card and a few bucks,
you know, when lugging a purse around is toooo cumbersome!
remember to save the date for this festival of festivals!

strange folk gathering

creation is well underway for this event,
some of my pins will be made either completely
or in part using my trusty huskystar er10...i LOVE
this machine in a big way!
i will be putting together several packages of my
paste papers and other decorative painted papers that
i have made in the form of generous scraps, atc and inchie
blanks and my personal favorite "chunky" confetti....these
are fun....and limited in edition!
my newest moo cards have arrived and i am
excited about the many surprises i have in store!
