inspire me thursday,came early

"For this weeks theme we are
going to go digital...so stay right
where you are and start creating
...with your digital images."

i very simply used two stored images,
one when i was 6 and one from a section
of a collage i had made some time ago. i am
all but completely photoshop illiterate,but
i rely heavily on the techniques of picasa...
i am always happy with the results, but i would
love to stretch my wings and start cutting my teeth
on some of the "brushes" i have seen as of late!
hopefully melanie and misty can ease my pain!!!
looking forward to this challenge's results!

pat's book building classes

saturday april 22,2006
1pm @ rock paper scissors
brilliant...in a word!
i am so excited about this class{one in a series} that pat will
be teaching, her bookbinding expertise never ceases to amaze
and delight me!

sweet kindnesses

my precious art sister of many years sent me the beautiful handmade card
above...i love carols style....pure and simple elegance with a touch
of good humor...she never forgets me! thank~you,c....love you!
linda,a newish sort of pal whom i feel to be a soul sister, filled my mail
box and heart with glee this week, the verrry nifty pierrot-esque clown
postcard and beautiful enameled easter pin,her thoughtful sweet tokens arrived
with a handwritten note on a magnolia leaf....tangible kindness. hugs
& more hugs to you...thanks!
and then out of the blue, from an artist named tiffini elektra x,{who i first
heard of a few years back after getting one of her fabulous "artist" atc's in
a swap, followed her, here and there in admiration},sent me these completely
wicked cool wine glass "identifiers"...a little red riding hood series, after i
commented that i loved lil' the best of all of the fairy tales{due in part to that
bitchin' red cape} after seeing her page in the 5x5 "wishes & dreams" book
swap from the creative underground that we just collaborated in together...
along with a handful of tiny buttons containing some of her collage art...all of this!
for me! tiffini rocks the bottle cap, kids! cosmic sisterhood,it's a good thing...again,
i give thanks!
just thought you should know!

charming

my charms for the great cu swap will be making
their way to fort collins, colorado today! after the addition
of these and "vintage" artchix brass number charms
and jump rings and a little label on back, my "faux" bone
button tags are ready to be added to the mix!

good company monday

monday meeting at corinne's,with pat for an intense
book "building" session...invigorating! using the very talented
and generous jeanne elmers un-journal technique we created
our own in just under two hours, with page "receptacles" for 15,
i have started a few pages! pat has made many gorgeous background
pages (one with her hand holding a devine quote...pat can you put
that quote in the comments please!?) and the one under the images above
are just two of her amazing technique laden inserts! i can't wait to see what
corinne comes up with! thanks, girls for the fun and folly!

studio friday {room with view}

i feel very lucky to have a light filled studio,on the top
floor looking down over woods and a ravine, and
looking straight out,at the moment are very ominous,
threatening looking skies.....

this quote lines the top of my walls, above my window:
"the woman who works with her hands only is a
laborer
the woman who works with her hands and head is
a craftswoman
the woman who works with her hands, her head and
her heart is an artist." st.francis of asisi
