"eye thought" photobooth .bulge.
i spent the day warming up.
i have a few important projects
and collaborations looming and
have not spent a bit of productive time
at my art table in well over a month.
warming up is a necessary part of my process,
creatively speaking.
i started my warming up by goofing off.
hence,the wacky self-portrait....deep in thought,
well, sort of. i guess goofing is part of that same process.
my friend and exceptionally talented artist, jen worden
posted a monoprint challenge a day or so ago.
i gathered my tools:
- 11x13 plexi glass
- brayers
- tweezers
- liquitex acrylics
- a variety of papers
- masks
i used brilliant yellow green,
alizarin crimson hue perm.,chromium oxide green,
deep turquoise and dioxazine purple.scrapbook paper
and stonehenge were papers at hand and i dragged out
a couple of heidi swapp masks to play with.
a really satisfying exercise...just what i needed to warm up,
thanks,jen!

Gorgeous, Denise. I agree with your warm-up theory/ptractice!
so fresh!
love your photobooth>>bulge! :P
These are great! This looks like a really neat technique that I'll have to try my hand at. I think I even have a Heidi Swapp mask. I found your site by following a couple of links from Inspire Me Thursday.
Holy Moly - I adore that picture! How cute!
