sepia journal spread
before being inverted
....and after......

inverted sepia

...playing around in photoshop,i know
so little about this phenomenom ,that is
ps, and will someday get around to taking
a course in better understanding it..until
then i just love futzing around with stored
images of my stuff and inverting them...the
colors are devine....whimsical & mysterious!
these are a spread in my true colors
sepia journal....on its way home soon from
my "rage the page" sisters!

the scallop

my favorite shell...i paid tribute a few years back
with this 5x7 collage using a seaside cutie and
many shell stickers and images from dover pub.,
on a background of brilliance inks! she is the
queen of the show!

a book covered...

......in molding paste,this is probably
one of my all time favorite mediums,so
much can be done with this stuff, specifically
the "light" formula, its weight is next to
nothing. i love slathering it on a surface with
reckless abandon using a spatula of sorts, bits
of sponge and my fingers. i have infused the
paste with paint,mica,glitter & dirt(yep!).
for the piece above i used paste alone, then
after manipulating and drying,i sponge
painted olive green lumiere acrylic over the
surface,sanded it,then brushed walnut ink
over that ,then added a bit of copper
lumiere here & there.....the image of the
shady woman adds just the right finishing
touch!

embellishments

dining room embellishments....
one of the walls in my dining room
finally has something on it!
i found these simple black,
cheap frames that are great
for fabulous 12x12 paper...i
gathered some favorite family
photos,postcards & flat trinkets
and my most prized basic grey
"chalk" paper and assembled 3
collages in a matter of a couple
of days. it was a few more days
before they got hung,but they
are up and i love how they look
against the wall color i painted...
A YEAR AGO!hey,these things take
time...on to the next wall...i'll
check back next year!

a favorite technique

a packing tape transfer....though tedious,
this technique produces cool results!
gather these supplies:
packing tape (the cheaper the better)
shallow dish for warm water
variety of images
bone folder
sanding block
uhu gluestick
scissors

take these steps:
1. Select picture. magazine pictures are
probably the very best because the paper is so
lightweight. glossy pictures don’t work as well
as matte ones. place tape over picture ,cut any
excess tape so none is hanging over the edge of
the picture.
2.burnish the tape to the picture so
there is a smooth solid bond.no air bubbles.
3.place picture in a bowl of room-temperature

water.wait up to 15 minutes.
the longer the soaking, the easier the paper can
be removed.
4. remove picture from water and place wrong side

up on freezer wrap protected surface. start to gently
rub to remove the paper. when all of the paper has
been removed, the picture will have transferred to
the tape and is now ready to be transferred to another
surface .
5. in some cases there will be enough adhesive
from the tape to allow it to adhere without further glue.
If not, use a glue stick as the adhesive. pictures can be
used to decorate stones,candles,collages,books etc.
remember, you will be dealing with a transparency
once the paper is removed, so the color of the item it is
transferred to will show through. also, if you select a
picture with a lot of white in it, you will usually not know
ahead of time if the white in the picture is the white of
the paper it is printed on or white ink. If it is white ink,
it will transfer. if it is the white of the paper, it will be
removed when you remove the paper !
6. to remove any shine from the up facing side, scuff
with sanding block.
leave me a comment with your results!
