a somerset wedding

this is a verrry beautifully done book and i am really happy to
have been a little part of it.

just dolls!...altered photo

jo,de and baby philly with our dolls at Christmas one year.
this was a super dark b/w photo to begin with. i took it to kinko's and enlarged the lighter, better part of the photo and had it printed on photo paper, then i soaked it in a tray of water, sanded it
,added color with adirondack re-inkers and golden quinacridone colors, then embellished with glitter, rhinestones and hats...jo gets the biggest hat since it is her birthday this week...she also gets the pompom !
i loved that doll...although she wasn't very cuddly...but she sure was cute!

visit these sites for more info on the products i used and inspiration i gleaned:

i am gonna have to send something in to good buddy helga, but will also create something with a transparency of my making...jenny is a great gal to work with, the soon to be released "a somerset wedding"(02/05) was edited by jenny,we had contact with each other several times about wedding atc "ornaments" that i (and many others) created for helga & james' wedding table centerpieces, also a cool book that several artists collaborated on as a wedding gift for them will be featured..it was made from an old 78 record album holder that lisa cook had and decided to put it to good use...see the pages on lisa's picturetrail: http://www.picturetrail.com/lisacook

altered valentine Posted by Hello

altered valentines

...broken hearts...not to worry.
i am "altering" paper valentines with sandpaper, ink and alot of other goodies,i love to alter anything, but greeting cards are the most satisfying. i am preparing for a demo that i will be doing this upcoming saturday.
the valentine above was altered by using sandpaper, glitter, paper scrap, image and a florish of gold paint "drawn" along the side of a french curve.

just a thought...

after speaking to my friend/boss this morning about her blogspot,i thought i would stop by to take a peek and make a comment or two....suddenly i am creating a place for myself...this could be just what the doctor ordered!
i wonder if this is like live journaling...am i live journaling? time will tell.
i need to roam around for a bit...see you soon!
