studio friday

lost & found...
my beloved sealing wax and seals. as a teenager nothing
was more important to me than a properly signed and
sealed letter to a friend.....colored inks and stationary
and the news of the day tucked into an envelope with
a plop of wax and the seal of choice to protect those
contents. i treasured these so. the aromatherapy.
then over years, decoupage, ceramics and rubber stamps
moved in and pushed the seals & wax to the background...
only to be found again for this edition of studio friday !

Oh wow, these are sooo precious! One of my dreams as a huge letter writer is a sealed one with wax. How I wished as a teenager to have one or to get a letter with it, wow! As time went by I had forgotten about it and now I don't write many letters anymore by hand. It's an almost lost art I think.
I am glad you found them again and kept them so well in that bowl!! :-)

I love sealing wax... a great way to make your mail special. Sometimes the old ways are so much better then the new ones.... it's time they invent a way to send email with personal wax seals on it ;-)

I have always been a huge fan of sealing wax, too! I loved the look of red sealing wax on brown packing paper most and always dreamed of getting a christmas parcel with a real seal and some red and white string wrapped around the parcel...oh, sweet memories!
