artist trading card self portrait
using paint mixed from laurie doctor's
poetry of painting workshop last weekend and
techniques from her poetry of handwriting class,
i created a self-portrait for the atc guild
at rock,paper,scissors.the image of me was at a
time of authentic wonder...i captured that feeling
again after being a part of laurie's magic and was
compelled to create these cards!

an autumn nest
so precious,this beautiful autumn nest.it was on my stoop
to greet me after a never ending dose of reality yesterday.

blind contour drawing of an apple.have you ever seen that
little flower shape on the bottom of an apple?aha.
using phthalo blue(rs),quin.red and hansa yellow to mix a
neutral palette this is my first piece from the first of two
weekend long laurie doctor workshops at the foundry.
an amazing group of artists filled the room to blossom as
laurie transformed each of us with her thoughts,techniques,
affirmations and mind opening favorite poetry.
i have sooo much more to share,a soothing balm was given
and i received...once i arrived.
an expression of.....
"feeling gratitude
and not expressing
it is like wrapping a present
and not giving it." -wm.a.ward
it has been a truly lovely birthday week for me,i find myself
among the very fortunate to have such thoughtful,caring,
creative,true friends and family.my heart and soul and well-being
have been filled to overflowing...gratitude looms large!!!!

remember when i said i'm a bracelet girl? this is the one

my sweet friend,michel,designed this gorgeous glass specimen
and presented it to me a few weeks ago,it feels just right
on my wrist and catches the light magically...and i adore it!

when i am at rock,paper,scissors...i admire so the style and
ease corey has with polymer clay,the canes she creates and her
mastery of that skinner blend technique are truly amazing to me!
i feel very proud and am tickled pink to have been given this
piece by corey for my birthday...i will treasure this and be
inspired by it regularly!!!

i'm a nut for beautiful fabric,stitching and fibers and in the form
of a nifty over the shoulder bag,just big enough for my cell phone,
lipstick and a stash of atc's....i am simply giddy with joy! this
gratitude bag is absolutely stunning,as is the little book b-day
card that my dear pal pat made for me!
she also gifted me with the most elegant,delicious silken tea infusers
that i can indulge in,in this delightful "tranquili-tea" mug!
