...my grandma on her graduation day
many years ago...she will be 99 on june 9th.
this is a collage i put together using direct to
paper for the color on top of a shorthand page
and various inked images. originally i thought
that this image was of my aunt betty...hence
the letter 'b',but later found out it was in fact the
matriarch not one of her daughters! amazing
resemblance for sure!

creating joy

our weekend with kaylie...this is kaylie...my niece,
firstborn to my baby-ist brother (bookend) chris
& his wife, angie. there is a ton of life in this 19 mos.
old package! we wore each other out this weekend
taking walks, visiting the local carnie, going up &
down,up & down,up & down steps,eating,eating,then
eating again...a great time was had by all!

the last 24 hours

pages for a skinny book...
using belinda's classroom instruction & helga's new hats
...i made these pages for the artchix july contest.

last night at the american art alliance meeting i
officially became the program director, the job is this...
i will gather artists throughout the next year to come to
the monthly meetings to demonstrate their craft, the less
than two hour demo will pay $50! any takers? i will be in
touch with some of you!
annie asked me to demo last night,so i chose to show & tell
artist trading cards..."artist trading cards 101" as it were,
i brought my big,fat binder full of cards and my atc book
by somerset and 2 baskets full of supplies so that everyone
could make their own cards...it was a big success, as most of
the artists there had only briefly heard of this phenomenon!
we will be planning swaps & "play"sessions for the group in the
near future!

kate's magic

...kate's magic!
i stopped in to visit with kate yesterday
at her way cool studio at the foundry,
i have always been a ferocious button
collector and came across these buttons
at an antique mall near my home a few
weeks ago...can you see where this is going?
i remembered to grab them and bring them
with me to show kate, and,in a matter of minutes,
while we talked she created this soooo
verrry bitchin' necklace for me! i LOVE it!
don't you just love it?!
it looks really great with the button bracelet
that i bought from her a couple of months ago!
thanks,kate....you rock!
